VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta State University is trying to help students have a better chance of finding a job when they graduate.
Thursday, the university held it's annual student career fair known as "The Exchange".
VSU senior Cal Reissiger said he was pleasantly surprised by what he learned from talking with companies at the fair.
"One thing that I thought was really cool is, they said the degree doesn't really matter as much; they want the person. So, if you have a degree that doesn't really fall in line with the job, they can kind of work around that; teach you, kind of mentor you to the right job," said Reissiger.
Over a dozen local, regional, and national companies were at the career fair.
