Police: Man assaulted woman after sex

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Police say a man assaulted a woman with a knife after they had sex.

It happened around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a report, 50-year-old Charles Poag was with a woman he knew on Virginia Avenue in Valdosta.

The woman told police Poag forced her to go to a vacant home on the street and then shortly thereafter attacked her with a knife, scratching her on the neck.

Police also say that the two admitted to having sex, but there is a discrepancy as to whether or not it was consensual.

After the attack police say Poag went to his home here on Virginia Avenue, where he was arrested a short time later, and charged with aggravated assault.

Investigators said more charges were pending.
