Daycare worker charged with molestation

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A student intern at Albany Technical College's Child Development Center is charged with molesting a 2 year old girl in the college's child care. 26-year-old Algenard Cutts was arrested October 2nd and charged with child molestation.

The parent of the girl says that Cutts improperly touched the child at the College's Child Development Demonstration Center where she was in day care.  The parent said the child told about the touching, sparking an investigation.

Albany Tech President Anthony Parker said all students and educators at their child center undergo background checks to try to ensure the safety of the children.

"We want the parents of the children to feel confident that we are going to take care of them.  That we are going to treat them well. That we are going to make sure that they are well treated and especially make sure that no harm comes to them," Dr. Anthony Parker Albany Technical College President.

Dr. Parker said they have re-checked their procedures to check the backgrounds of students who come into contact with the center's children.  Cutts remains in the Dougherty County Jail without bond.
