ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The American Red Cross said South Carolina disaster victims are beginning the long job of cleanup after devastating flooding.
South Georgia Red Cross officials say they have plenty of bottled water now to take care of the victims' needs.
The Red Cross is starting to hand out comfort kits with toiletries and cleanup kits.
"That is going to be a huge thing. Clean up kits have things like tarps and bleach and gloves, and that sort of thing. So not that the water is receding people can get back in their home, and see what they need to do to clean up," said Lara Gill South Georgia American Red Cross Exec. Director.
More than 300 people spent Sunday night in 15 Red Cross shelters in South Carolina. South Georgia officials say making a monetary contribution to the American Red Cross will help provide supplies for flood victims.
