Drugs, gun confiscated in Cordele traffic stop

CORDELE, GA (WALB) - On Monday, 27 year old Laura West of Atlanta was caught going 91 MPH through Crisp County, and pulled over by Deputy Chris Herrick

Herrick smelled marijuana coming from the car, and while he was talking to a passenger, he took off running across the Interstate, through traffic, and tried to get to the woods. They found Keith Riley in an abandoned house off Highway 257, and arrested him.

Another passenger,  34 year old Michael Triplett was arrested for possession of crack cocaine.

Deputies recovered eight and a half ounces of marijuana, six grams of methamphetamine, one and half ounces of crack cocaine, 24 various Oxycodone, hydromorphone, clonazepam pills, and a .22 revolver from the car.

All three were transported to the Crisp County Law Enforcement Center.

Laura West is charged with speeding and possession of marijuana. Michael Triplett and Keith Riley are charged with multiple felony drug offenses and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Riley is also charged with criminal trespass for entering the abandoned house.
