COFFEE CO., GA (WALB) -

The Coffee County Fire Department responded to a gas line rupture on Georgia Highway 32, near Sinkhole Road West of Douglas.

Coffee County Fire Chief Steve Carver says that a contractor plowing ground to lay cables hit a residential gas line, and caused the leak.

City utility officials responded quickly, and sealed off the broken pipe within half an hour.

No one was evacuated, and the all clear was given.
