ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

WALB happily presented the Cancer Coalition of South Georgia with a check for $10,000 on Saturday. In total, thanks to everyone's support, more than $13,000 was raised.

About 125 runners participated in the Buddy 10K race at Chehaw Park, and the team looks forward to next year.

The winner of Saturday's race said he was happy to support a good cause.

"I mean I enjoy running but I also enjoy the competition that's out there," said Robert Nolasco. "But also for awareness, it's for you know, cancer and cancer victims. It's really important to get that message out there to do self examinations,"

The race was an effort to raise awareness about breast cancer.
