representatives from over 100 colleges scouted the JUCO talent
33 JUCO schools participated
Darton coach Lea Henry says the jamboree is important to program
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Over 100 college coaches and scouts lined the Darton College Gym today to get a look at JUCO basketball players in the southeast.
This was the 4th year Darton has played host to the Southeast JUCO Jamboree.
33 schools played in a total of 48 games from morning to evening. Players showcased their talents to some of the top division I and II schools in the nation in hopes of landing a scholarship.
Darton State head coach Lea Henry enjoys hosting the annual jamboree.
"Not only does it expose us to a lot of high school kids," said Henry. "But the division I and II coaches that are here promote us as well when they have kids that they know are going to have to go the JUCO route."
Henry said Darton's state of the art gym is the key selling point for recruitment and hosting the jamboree.
