ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany's Marine reserve unit kicked off the 2015 Toys for Tots campaign Friday.
Toys for Tots is the largest Department of Defense outreach program and serves as an avenue for the Marine Corps' charity organizations and the local community to provide toys for underprivileged children during Christmas time.
"It's very exciting to see the smiles on their faces and everybody happy," said Marine Gunnery Sgt. Jimmie Smith. "And some kids don't know how to react so they just don't say anything but you know deep down inside they enjoy it and they really appreciate what you've done for them."
Drop-off boxes will be all around the city at local stores.
They are looking for brand new toys at $20 or less that are already wrapped and packaged.
