ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Technical College is expanding a program to help fill jobs in a high-demand field.
The college will start offering weekend classes in its Diesel Equipment Technology Program
90 students are currently enrolled in the program.
It will add 15 more with Friday and Saturday classes.
"There's a terrible shortage of diesel technicians and it's only going to get worse," said Eddie Peck, Diesel Technology Program Chairman. "So what we're trying to do is we're trying to find a nitch where possibly we could reach some other people who want to pursue this program and the current hours of instruction aren't working out for them."
Those classes will start in January on Fridays from 8 to 5 and Saturdays from 8 to 1:30.
