ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A parade of pink walked around Phoebe Putney Tuesday afternoon.
Dozens of employees wore pink and carried some pink balloons for their annual pink walk. Phoebe officials say they want to raise awareness about breast Cancer, and that includes among employees as well.
"We try to have awareness out in the community for our patients, however our own employees need awareness as well. And so this is bringing it back home to our family, our community of Phoebe, and make sure they understand how important it is to do early detection," said Van der Merwe, Oncology Services Vice President.
They also walked passed the Cancer center, waiving with their pink balloons, which Van der Merwe says cheers up the patients.
