Many came out to Mark's Melon Patch despite rain

Despite the rainy weather here some people didn't let it stop them from heading outdoors Sunday and celebrating fall at Mark's Melon Patch.

"The rain can't stop us," Christina Wright said.

It definitely can't stop Alex from going to his favorite part of the melon patch.

And while Alex and other kids are diving into the corn, Sydney Stevens who works here get's to meet the parents.

"I have people from passing through from Florida, coming from football games and coming it's just really nice to meet all these people." Sydney Stevens said.

Stephens says that many people come to the melon patch to enjoy things like the corn and cotton barn and the latest addition the corn maze.

"I went through the corn maze this morning and wound up getting lost again."  Mark Daniel said.

For most once this place opens up it means fall is officially here.

"You know it's fall when you are at Mark's Melon Patch,"Stevens said.

"It's not a Halloween or a fall season with out coming to Mark's melon patch,"Wright said.

Wright and her son have been coming here for years. She say's she loves fall because of the Melon patch.

"The time spent together with family and the time spent enjoying the fall season you can't put a price tag on it," Wright said.
