Community leaders reach out to residents

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Today Dougherty County district 6 had its first ever public safety and wellness event. 

Many people showed up to the event made just for them.

There were health screenings and food. 

As well as county and city officials out there to answer questions residents may have. 

"The question that we've been feeling today is cleaning up blithe and property how to make your neighbor clean up around you. Everybody wants a nice place to live and certainly they need to know how to get it cleaned up,"Anthony Jones said.

Commissioner Jones says they do plan to host another one next year.
