DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - Dougherty County school students were sporting pink to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Students at Robert Cross Middle school wore all kinds of pink gear, from crazy hats to skirts and necklaces.
"It's really an honor to wear it because if a person has breast cancer, and they came in here, they would see how many supporters they had, and how we are routing for them to fight it out and get better," said student Taylor Cunn.
Recreation and Parks partnered with schools to show support for parents who might be battling breast cancer.
"We have a lot of kids in our Dougherty County School system's whose parents have breast cancer," said Tee Taylor. "And this is a way for them to see that we are with you. We are fighting with you to make sure everything is all right."
The school also hosted a door decoration contest. Martha Demoise's Spanish class won by cutting out hands and writing phrases in Spanish on them.
