Thomas University adds residence halls

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Thomas University's campus will now have residence halls.

Officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for two new residence halls.

The University has owned the property for the past five years.

the campus will house 80 students in one dorm and another 64 in the other residence hall.

University officials credit the need for the residence halls to continuous growing enrollment.

This fall again was our 9th out of 10th year of record enrollment. Not easy to get there in this age of higher education, but we've been able to beat the odds and do quite well," said Thomas University President Gary Bonvillian.

The students living on campus will have access to recreational facilities close by.

The residence halls are expected to be ready by the fall of 2016.
