UGA map shows when deer are 'friskiest'

ATLANTA (AP) - A new map compiled by the University of Georgia that shows the relative risk of striking a deer.

The county-by-county analysis examines deer breeding data and also incorporates reports of vehicle collisions with deer.

Collisions typically increase during the fall breeding season because deer travel while seeking mates.

The UGA study reported that there were 45,811 vehicle collisions with deer from 2005 to 2012.
