ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Students and staff at Albany State are taking proactive steps to stop sexual misconduct on campus. Around 150 people took part in the 2-day event aimed at helping folks spot sexual assault.
Speakers gave examples of possible issues that could come up and walked participants through the follow-up steps. Resident Assistants, police officers, and school judicial members were all in attendance.
"What we're doing is being proactive. We have annual training to be prepared in the event such a case arises, so that we'll know how to handle it effectively," said Coordinator for Student Ethics and Integrity Angelnique Jordan.
Jordan encourages all students to read the campus policy on sexual misconduct and report anything that violates that code.
