ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Dougherty County Child Death Investigation Team and the school system are looking into the sudden death of a 15-year old Dougherty High School student.

The coroner tells us there is no obvious cause of death, and Ramos did not have any existing medical condition that could explain the sudden death. He said that blood and toxicology reports would be done but would take several weeks to come back.

Superintendent David Mosley said the school system had counselors on campus for the last two days to help with the grieving students but says now is not the time to speculate on the death.

"We are in the process of reaching out to the family, trying to console them, providing counseling for our students, investigating if anything on our end was at fault and trying to raise money to help bury this child," said DCSS Superintendent Dr. David Mosley

Dr. Mosley said anyone wishing to help the family can donate money to the school system to help with burial costs.

School police are talking with students and teachers at the school as part of the investigation.
