VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A Valdosta man was behind bars in Volusia County, Florida Tuesday accused of stealing a truck from a Valdosta gas station.

Police said 29 year old Jamarca Manson drove off in a customer's truck from the Flash Foods at 1800 N. Ashley St. around 5 a.m. Monday. According to police, the customer left the truck running and went inside the store to buy something but when he came out moments later his truck was gone.

The truck was stopped in Volusia County around 10:30 Monday morning and Manson was arrested.

"We had surveillance video that showed the person that got into the truck, so they were able to show a picture of the person that they caught down there and the person here and they compared the two pictures and it appeared to be the same guy," explained Valdosta Police Department Cpt. Bobbi McGraw.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Manson was facing several charges, including felony theft by taking of a motor vehicle.

Cpt. McGraw said investigators are still working Tuesday to figure out why Manson went to Volusia County.
