Driver suspected of DUI in Nelms Rd. crash

According to officials the driver was believed to be driving under the influence when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed with his wife in the car. ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Around 8:30 a.m. Saturday Albany Fire Department and Dougherty County Police were dispatched to an accident at Nelms Rd. and Gravel Hill Rd.

Dougherty County Police believe that the driver, Justin Pate was driving under the influence when he lost control of his truck and hit two trees.

Pate was traveling Eastbound on Nelms Rd. with his wife Krystal Pate when the accident occurred. 

Justin was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Dougherty County Police say that Pate could be be charged with DUI, failure to maintain lane, obstruction of firefighters, obstruction of EMS and Obstruction of police.
