An organization committed to ending violence in Albany helps students show off their talent.

“Stop The Violence” held their first talent and fashion show Friday night at Darton State College.
Students in elementary, middle, and high school showed off their musical and dancing skills and fashion designs by Lady V.
Organizers say the goal is to give students something productive to do.

"We're trying to do anything that we can to take our young people off the streets,” said Ingrid Wilcox, Executive Secretary for Stop the Violence. “We're taking back our neighborhoods and we figured if we can do something that will showcase what they have out there that they're giving in the streets, why not bring it in and offer it to anyone  that would come out and see what they are good at doing."

Top cash prizes ranged from $75 to $200.
