LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - Primary school students are supporting a classmate during childhood cancer awareness month. Brandon Mendoza was diagnosed with leukemia in kindergarten.
Friday, in recognition of childhood cancer awareness month, everyone at Kinchafoonee Primary School wore yellow to support him. The principal says all the students were excited to do it.
"We just really wanted to show him how much we admire the struggle that he's had and that he's a survivor," said Dr. Trina Muse.
All the money they raise will go to Jay's Hope 4 Childhood Cancer.
