VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A Valdosta man is continuing to recover after police say he was cut on the arm multiple times by his live-in girlfriend.

42 year old Linda Scurry was charged as of Friday afternoon with cutting 36 year old Cedric Williams on his left arm around 4 p.m. Thursday at 1706 Fresno St., where the two lived.

According to police, Scurry and Williams got into an altercation and Scurry cut Williams with a knife that she got from the home.

"[Scurry] then grabbed a knife from the house and then began slashing at the victim," said Valdosta Police Department Lt. Kari Williams. "I believe [Scurry] was found at the residence."

Lt. Williams said Williams admitted that he and Scurry had been drinking prior to the incident.

Police were initially called to an apartment in the 2500 block of Forrestwood Dr. for a report of a stabbing. When they got there, they found Williams and further investigation revealed that the attack happened at the home on Fresno St.

Scurry remained in the Lowndes County Jail as of Friday afternoon.
