NASHVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A Valdosta law firm is partnering with the Berrien County Sheriff's Office to try to help save children's lives.

The Studstill Firm and the Berrien County Sheriff's Office will be performing free car seat safety checks in Nashville Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to the firm, over 350 children nationwide die each year in car crashes because of an issue with their car seat.

"Either not being in a car seat or a booster seat or being in an improper one," said Danny Studstill.

Berrien County Sheriff Anthony Heath said he is excited for the event. "If we can just raise awareness and save one child, that's immeasurable," said Sheriff Heath.

The firm will also have a limited number of car seats available to give to families who need one but cannot afford one.
