ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Students at Albany State discussed L-G-B-T issues and diversity on their campus Thursday night.
The panel discussion followed a screening of the award-winning documentary "The New Black."
It looks at the African American community's involvement in the gay rights movement.
"For me it is about civil rights, said ASU professor Devona Mallory. "And every united states citizen having the right to marry whomever they want."
"This is the place to have the conversation, said Georgia Equality rep Rob Woods. "And another reason is you have strong and intelligent minds here at ASU."
Georgia Equality is working with Promised Land Film to promote the documentary throughout the state.
