ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany-Dougherty Economic development commission is preparing to host the electric cities of Georgia bus tour.
Every three years, the tour brings in interested state project managers who evaluate multiple features of the community.
That often includes touring available industrial facilities.
EDC President Justin Strickland says the tour is the perfect opportunity to showcase the city.
"For them to come to Albany and see the amenities that we have here and the industrial assets and remembering that when they go home is very important for us," said Strickland
Albany Technical college president Dr. Anthony Parker also talked to the board about plans for a college and career academy.
It would be the first in south Georgia and would help students earn college credit while they're still in high school.
