Albany Museum of Art holds writing competition for college students

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Museum of Art is hosting a writing competition to encourage college students to visit the museum.

Students enrolled at Albany Tech, Albany State, Darton, Georgia Southwestern, Andrew College, and Valdosta State can compete in "A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words."
They must use one of six art pieces at the museum as inspiration for an essay of up to one thousand words.
The competition was started by Trustees Steve and Bronwyn Hinton.

"They really wanted to get students more involved with what we have going on here,” said Amanda Morris, Public Relations Manager. “So we made it college student level because we really wanted to get more college students here and we really wanted to strengthen the relationship that we have."

The Competition runs from September 25th through October 26th.
Winners will get cash prizes and have their works published.
