Tee Taylor, Albany Recreation and Parks Supervisor Tee Taylor, Albany Recreation and Parks Supervisor
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Recreation and Parks Department is kicking off the second annual "Stay Warm for the Holidays" Blanket Drive in collaboration with the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office and WZBN 105.5. F.M.

Blankets will be donated to people in need who are 55 years old and up.
They collected a thousand blankets last year and hope to double that this year.

"You know a lot of times their bills are high,” said Tee Taylor, Albany Recreation and Parks Supervisor. “Their electric bills for the month of December. So what we are doing is giving them something to kind of stay warm. It might be a little cool but you don't need to turn the heater on."

The Drive runs through December 11th.
You can drop off donations at the Albany Recreation and Parks Department by calling them at 430-5222 or WZBN, and the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office.
