CORDELE, GA (WALB) - Need to get rid of some old prescription pills safely? You can do that at the Cordele Police Department, 24-hours a day.
National Prescription Take Back Day is this weekend. Police say it helps raise awareness about getting rid of old drugs which can pose a danger.
"Children might get to them. Prescription drugs right now are on the rise, as far as illegal use, so it illuminates that possibility," said Cordele Police Sgt. Jeremy Taylor.
National Prescription Take Back Day is from 10 to 2 on Saturday, but you can drop off old prescriptions anytime in the downstairs lobby at the Cordele Police Department or Crisp County Sheriff's office.
