VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A Lowndes County man and an Echols County man knew as of Wednesday afternoon how long they'll have to spend behind bars for their role in a multi-state dog fighting ring.
Raymond Lee Hendrix and Willie Henderson were sentenced in federal court in Valdosta Wednesday.
They were arrested in August of 2013 as part of a bust that seized hundreds of thousands of dollars and dozens of dogs in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas.
According to the U.S. District Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Georgia, Hendrix was sentenced to 16 months and will be allowed to self surrender at a later date. Hendrix bonded out shortly after being arrested.
Henderson was already in custody Wednesday and according to the DA's office he was sentenced to 93 months.
