WASHINGTON, D.C. (WALB) -

On his first full day in the United States, Pope Francis visited the White House as the guest of honor at a welcoming ceremony.

Thousands of people were in attendance on the south lawn to watch as the Pope addressed the American people.

President Obama and Michelle Obama joined the Pope in waving to the crowd before spending time inside the White House.

In his speech, Pope Francis addressed climate change in his first address from the White House.

    Here in Southwest Georgia the American Red Cross has been working the last couple of days to prepare for the storm.  The American Red Cross has been getting their relief supplies ready across the 19 county region.
