The former Peanut Corporation of America plant in Blakely is being refurbished by new owners. Progressive Ag bought the plant at auction.

The owners say they will one day discuss their plans for their business which sells used peanut farming equipment to developing countries.

Local business leaders are excited about their new business which has already added 11 new jobs.

"The fact they are able to offer that and the fact they have the potential to expand which is another big thing. We are confident those facilities will be able to maintain and support those businesses," said Kyle Kornegay, Blakely-Early Co. Chamber of Commerce President.

More than 40 people in the Blakely area lost their jobs when the PCA plant closed in February of 2009.
