NASHVILLE, GA (WALB) - A grand jury handed down murder indictments against three men in a gang-related death at a night club.
Trevor Dennard Posley, Dexter Jamal Freeney, and Steven Maurice Monroe were indicted on 48 counts related to the death of Clay Cross, including malice murder and felony murder.
In the indictment, prosecutors said Posley, Freeney, and Monroe killed 22-year-old Cross on May 10, 2014 as part of gang activity at the 912 Club in Homerville, GA.
According to a report, gang members fired a shot into the club at other gang members. That shot ricocheted and hit Cross, killing him.
Court documents showed the indictment included 30 charges against the three related to gang activity.
All three suspects were given a $500,000 cash-only bond, but were already in jail in connection to the murder case.
District attorney Dick Perryman said the gangs involved were the Gangster Disciples, the Bloods, and the Cuttings Loop People.
