ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Cancer Ties foundation held its 9th annual fall event tonight to raise money for a cancer survivor.
Lots of folks wore lively ties tonight at Merry Acres to support this year's recipient Jessica Wilson.
The executive director explained the symbolism of the ties.
"That is how we're connected," said Carrie Hutchinson. "We are all tied together through cancer. It doesn't matter. Just about everybody knows someone who has been affected or has a family member, or them personally. that's our theme, that's what ties us together."
The event included food, music and auctions to raise money for Wilson.
