ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A South Georgia domestic violence shelter is encouraging you to donate hygiene items to help their clients.
Liberty House is one of six organizations benefiting from the Albany Area YMCA Community Hygiene Drive.
Their shelter holds up to 20 people and they serve 17 counties.
The Executive Director hopes people will continue to donate even after the drive is over.
"So anytime that we're able to provide diapers and other hygiene products for the ladies that we serve both in shelter and in outreach, it makes a significant difference in their lives," said Silke Deeley, Liberty House Executive Director.
"The drive is going really well," said Erin Hutchins, Albany Area YMCA Program Director. "I think because people in the community are now understanding that this is a need."
You can drop off items at all six U Save It Pharmacy locations through Monday.
