ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The company that owns Albany's Miller-Coors brewery could be sold.
Anheuser-Busch is offering more than $200 billion to buy SAB Miller.
The buyout would create a "Super Brewery" with nine of the world's top 20 beers by volume.
Under British takeover rules, Anheuser-Busch has until October 14th to make a formal bid for its rival.
Any mega merger would have to satisfy anti-trust regulations in several countries.
When asked for comment on how a merger would affect operations in Albany, Jonathan Stern, Director of Media Relations said:
"We don't comment on global beer deal speculation, but it is business as usual at MillerCoors (including the Albany brewery)."
