DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

A Leesburg man is in critical  condition, after he was run over by a tractor he was driving.

About 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, 60 year old Robert Hall was cutting grass on this tractor at the old Merck manufacturing plant site on Radium Springs road, when he was thrown off.  Police say the tractor ran over his arm and mid-section,  then struck this tree and was hung up there.

Dougherty County Police Captain Thomas Jackson said "Due to the grass being as high as it was, he didn't see a ditch and the tractor had actually went into the ditch, causing him to be flipped off the tractor."

Hall was airlifted to Macon Wednesday morning.  Trauma center officials say they have stabilized Hall, but he remains in critical condition.
