Dougherty County approved new plan for tall grass

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County commissioners just approved something that will hopefully solve a tall problem.

The Commissioners approved using $3,000 of the county's emergency fund to pay contractors to clean up yards that violate the vegetation control ordinance.
The city of Albany does something similar, but leaders say violators should not see this as a free grass-cutting service.

Violators will have to pay a fine if contractors work on their yards.
