Albany murder trial underway

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Jury selection began this morning in the trial of an Albany man charged with murdering an Albany State University student in 2011.

26 year old Joshua Johns is charged with murder, aggravated assault, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Johns, known as "Lil Flick" is charged with shooting 20 year old ASU Junior Bruce Mullen in the breezeway of an East Albany apartment complex on South Mock Road on June 30, 2011.

Prosecutors say Mullen was shot during an attempted robbery.  Johns turned himself in July 5th, after he found out he was wanted.

Two co-defendants, Stephen Lewis and Stephanie Harrison, have pled guilty and are expected to testify in Johns' trial.  The trial is expected to take the rest of the week.
