CORDELE, GA (WALB) - The Crisp County Sheriff's Office and the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force had been working on a big marijuana case for two months, and it paid off Friday, with a huge haul of pot and an arrest.
Working with the the United States Postal Inspection Service, agents served a search warrant on 702 West 23rd Avenue in Cordele, after getting information that marijuana deliveries were being made to the residence through the mail.
They set up surveillance on the house, and then arrested 27 year old Dontavious Harvey, who was charged with possession of marijuana, with intent to distribute.
During the search of the residence agents discovered approximately 10 pounds of suspected marijuana, $985.00 in cash and digital scales.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing, with possible additional charges against Harvey, and more arrests could be made.
