Ware county high and Coffee county are fierce rivals. The bordering counties duked it out on the field Friday night, but not before an excellent display of sportsmanship.
Take a look at the Ware county banner. "We may be rivals on the field, but tonight we all fight the good fight."
The sign alludes to two Coffee County members who passed away to cancer.
Malik Sparkman, the former linebacker, and Neil Graham, the former linebacker coach, were remembered at Jardine Stadium during the game.
In an intense game for bragging rights, and in childhood cancer awareness month, Ware county displayed maturity and what a Coffee county staff member called an excellent display of sportsmanship.
Less importantly, the Ware County Gators went on to chomp their way to a 23-14 victory.
