MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, GA (WALB) - It was the end of an era at Moody Air Force Base Friday.
The base's last C-130P Combat King plane was retired from active duty. A demonstration of the plane's capabilities was held to celebrate the plane's history.
Cpt. Max Miller, a former C-130p Combat King pilot, emceed the ceremony. He said it was great to see the plane in action one last time. "There's a certain charm about flying a 50 plus year old aircraft," said Cpt. Miller. "It's pretty amazing to see it continue to fly for as long as it has."
The plane will now be stationed at a National Guard base in Florida.
