Police said they have found a man named as a material witness in the trial of a man accused of murdering an Albany State student in a shootout and robbery.
Malcolm Colbert was captured by Dougherty County Sheriff’s deputies at 7:45 a.m. Friday on Woodhaven Lane.
He is expected to be a witness in the murder trial of Joshua Johns, who prosecutors said shot and killed Bruce Mullen during a robbery in 2011.
The robbery happened on June 30, 2011 at Hidden Oaks Apartments on Mock Road in Albany.
Police said Mullen was standing in a breezeway of the apartment complex when he was shot in the chest.
Colbert was taken to the Dougherty County Jail.
The murder trial was expected to begin Monday.
