ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Dougherty County Drug Unit and Keep Albany Dougherty County beautiful are planning a pill drop off this Saturday at the Civic Center.
Organizers say it is a safe way to get rid of any old medications so they don't pollute the environment.
"Whether it's old cough syrup, outdated over the counter medication, aspirins, any kind of medication that's not currently in use. If they want to get rid of it; instead of putting it in the trash can; it's best to bring it out the Albany Civic Center," said Eddie Jones with the Albany Dougherty Drug Unit.
They are encouraging people to gather up their old and unused medications and bring them to the Civic Center this Saturday between 9 a.m and 1 p.m. for the event.
