An Albany Substance abuse and mental health recovery program is celebrating the successes of the people it serves.
ASPIRE sees nearly 250 patients a day. As part of Recovery Month, Aspire held its second annual recovery celebration. This year's theme is Visible, Vocal, and Valuable.
"We wanted to make certain that we celebrate with the individual, so this is a celebration,” said Elizabeth McQueen, Chief Clinical Officer. “It's a celebration of moving forward in life, leaving behind those things that would drag you down or put you in a position to move forward in health and healing."
Since the closing of Southwestern Hospital in Thomasville, McQueen says the state has worked hard to meet patients' needs by beefing up community programs like those at Aspire.
