LEE CO., GA (WALB) - Lee County commissioners approved a plan to make a busy road safer.
They'll widening North Doublegate Drive by two feet on both sides in a curve.
They say many drivers go too fast on the curve and run off the road.
"You can see areas where people have gotten caught short in there and there's an oncoming car and they've run off the shoulder of the road plus it could harm public safety people," said Ron Rabun, Lee County Manager. The problem is that people are going too fast in that area but it is a fairly narrow curve."
Sales tax revenue will pay for the $22,000 project.
Work could start within a week.
