SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -

A new patriotic display is up tonight in the heart of Sylvester.

Members of American Legion Post 335 lined Highway 82 and the Train Depot with American Flags for Labor Day and in remembrance of 9/11.
The 400 flags stretch for one mile, one every 15 feet.
The Commander says they plan to make this a tradition for every patriotic holiday.

"We want them to know that Sylvester is a small town with a big heart,” said Ray Humphrey, Commander of American Legion Post 335. “We're a very patriotic, very hard working people here and we'll never forget the 2,977 people that lost their life on 9/11.”

The flags will remain up through Sunday.
