ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

If you had the day off from work Monday,  we hope you got to enjoy the Labor Day holiday.

Many of you enjoyed some time outdoors.   We caught up with one group of extended family from Albany and Leary and Chehaw Park who expected up to 100 people at their holiday gathering.

"This is one time our family can come together without being at a funeral or some serious event so we just had to come out on labor day and enjoy one another," said Nathan Reed.

Reed says the family likes to get together at this big gathering every year to catch up and make sure all the relatives know their kin folk.

Lots of south Georgia families are wrapping up a fun holiday at Lake Blackshear.  The folks at the marina say it has been a busy weekend on water.

They say good weather, and the unofficial end to the summer boating season, brought out big crowds.

"On days like today you know where it's nice and sunny, you know even with a little cloud cover it typically is still good. It's just typically on the holidays like yesterday we're still busy," said Arron York.

The marina was completely booked with renters today.
