CORDELE, GA (WALB) - Cordele police may have a break in yesterday's murder of a teenager. A suspect is in custody, and we're waiting to learn whether investigators will file murder charges.
Cordele police are questioning a suspect in the murder of 19-year-old Carnell Saintville. He was shot early Sunday morning in the 1000 block of South 15th Street.
Investigators did not have time to do an interview with us. Yesterday, they didn't want to give many details about what happened.
"We have talked to several witnesses, um, we're not disclosing what they may or may not seen at this point just due to the early part of the investigation," said Investigator Andrew Roufs.
Saintville was driven to Crisp Regional Hospital with gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, he died on arrival.
"I know of at least one, one shot that hit him, but his car did receive several shots," Roufs said.
With one suspect in custody tonight, police tell us the investigation continues. As soon as we get word of charges in this case, we'll let you know.
