LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

Leesburg Police continue their search for a man who escaped from custody Sunday night after being arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Timothy Syntrell Rowland somehow managed to slip through a partition that separates the front seat from the back in the police cruiser.

That's when he drove the vehicle at two officers while his son and girlfriend were there.

Leesburg police say that they got a tip that he may be in Montezuma, which is near where Rowland is from. Currently, there are a whopping total of eight warrants for his arrest.

"Right now we're actively looking for him we've sent information to departments in the area that he's from. So they are familiar with our warrants and um the subject and hopefully we'll get him in custody," said Lt. James Vick of the Leesburg Police  Department.

Those warrants against Rowland include charges of theft by taking government property and cruelty to a child.

Police say that his 10 year old son is back with his mother. They hope to be able to catch Rowland soon.
